The bread of the dead or "Pan de Muerto" is shaped in round loaves with strips of dough attached on top to resemble bones, it is baked with the traditional egg bread recipe using eggs, milk and butter, coated with sugar and flavored with an orange aroma. Enjoy pan de muerto with a cup of hot Mexican chocolate.
Ingredients: wheat flour, eggs, water, yeast, sugar, vegetable oil, whole powder milk, butter, whey powder emulsifier, baking soda, salt.

This was our first time ordering a large Pan de Muerto so we weren't sure how to heat it up. A quick email to MexGrocer and we had our answer. Everyone said it was the most delicious we've had. It made our celebration even more special. I intend to order this every year.

Excellent quality of this dead bread. Is imposible to find here in my area something like this and definitely I will buy again. I hope this store never lower the quality. Is a little expensive yes but is worth if you can't find in your location.

Really good bread, but didn't mention nuts in it

I had ordered the smaller sized bread last year, but opted for the large pan de muerto this year. Very tasty, and plenty to go around if you are serving a small crowd. I was surprised to find that there is a pocket of some sort of walnut streusel in the top of the bread, though. I haven't come across this in either the pan de muertos that I bought last year, nor in the individual sized ones I bought this year. It's a tasty addition, and luckily I wasn't serving this to anyone with nut allergies, but I do think there should've been some mention of the nuts in the ingredient list or something for other potential purchasers who may be sensitive.

The most delicious bread you've ever eaten!

I don't know what I would do if I couldn't order this bread every year!!!! It is 100% authentic, super delicious and allows me to celebrate my favorite Mexican holiday from far away in New York City.
I brought it to a group gathering and there wasn't even a crumb leftover, it's so delicious! Bakeries try to sell pan de muerto in the city, and the shape looks ok, but their bread doesn't even come CLOSE in taste. This is the real deal!! Worth every penny!! I will buy it every year until I can return to Mexico again!!! :)
