As indicated, the cooking surface of the comal is about 9 inches. Additionally, there's a border at the edge which isn't a problem for smaller tortillas but this can be an issue when you're trying to make homemade flour tortillas as you're limited in surface space. Not only do you need that extra space for fitting the tortilla, but you also need it to fit your thumb or a utensil to flip it. Just something to keep in mind. Also, it has a very porous surface which slightly affects the appearance of the tortillas. Otherwise, it's been an effective product.

I ordered the $35one & much to my dismay,I found the exact same product(same demensions,same maker-everything the same)for $16 at Walmart.I've already used mine so I can't return it & I've already gotten rid of the receipt that came with it. I like the product-just wish I would've found the $16 one before I paid what I did!

Comal - Plancha redonda de hierro fundido precurada
El comal es una plancha o parrilla de estilo mexicano. Es una plancha grande de hierro fundido curado que se usa para hacer tortillas y chiles asados. También es ideal para preparar fajitas y quesadillas. Tiene una superficie de cocción de 23 cm (9 pulgadas) y un diámetro total de 27 cm (10.5 pulgadas).
El comal se pinta tradicionalmente de negro para protegerlo del óxido. Primero debes lavarlo a mano con agua y jabón, asegurarte de engrasarlo con aceite vegetal, luego calentarlo en la parrilla durante 30 minutos; finalmente, sécalo y retira el exceso de grasa con una toalla de papel. ¡Tu comal ya está listo para usar!

Receta para curar el comal
Instrucciones de la receta: 1.-Limpie a fondo el comal mexicano con agua y jabón. 2.-Muela un poco de ajo hasta formar una pasta y extiéndala por toda la superficie del comal. 3.-Déjalo reposar durante toda la noche. 4.-Al día siguiente, enjuague el ajo del comal y ¡listo! Ya puede cocinar no solo tortillas, sino también chiles, tomates y otros condimentos.

I have been using this salsa for years in California, which is pretty much everywhere. Unfortunately, I moved to Puerto Rico and can't find it, thus why I ordered it. Glady that I was able to find it via your website along with my beloved Salsa Pato. Can't live without them, they have a unique salsa flavor. Love, love them.
I love this hot sauce. It’s nice and spicy and I make amazing chicken or beef enchiladas with it! This most recent time I tried turkey enchiladas and they turned out delicious! I used to live by a Kroger grocery store I could buy them from but now I have to order them online from mexgrocer and it works out fine, great company! Bring them to Giant Eagle!!
