Molcajete Pig Head - Black Lava Stone Bowl (Pintado) - 7" / 8"

Love to make salsa with this!

Love this bowl. Unfortunately it arrived with a crack in one of the legs. I glued it with stone glue and it was good to go. This is a large and heavy bowl. Perfect for guacamole for a party.

Product is exactly as advertised. Well packed and arrived on time. I cured it and then made the first batch of guacamole. Absolutely outstanding. Would highly recommend this. Great quality and great value.

I ordered this because it was cute and well, I wanted one. After the fact I did my homework about molcajetes. I had no idea that all molcajetes are not created equal. After learning about the different ways manufactures try to pass them off as authentic, I became nervous. I have never purchased anything from MexGrocer.com before and I started to worry about what I had just done. That worry was totally gone after my purchased arrived. As I unpacked the very well wrapped item I was nervous... and then I saw the quality of this molcaajete. I was thrilled. It is really porous, heavy, and all lava rock. It's exactly what I wanted. I couldn't be happier.

I'm just beginning the seasoning process and enjoying every minute of it. There is nothing like sitting on the back porch, watching the world go by, grinding rice into flour. So far I have only done one small batch of rice. My neighbor saw me out and stopped to ask what I was doing. Needless to say, we chatted far longer than I worked, so seasoning is going to take awhile. I must admit, I am looking forward to the many, many bowls of guac and salsa this is going to help me make. Here's to summer, sitting on the back patio with some ice cold beverages, yummy salsa and great friends.

Thank you MexGrocer.com for such a great molcajete!
