PINOLE OR TOASTED CORN MAIZE
Ingredients: Toasted corn without colorants and conservatives. The Toasted Corn Maize of La India Verdena is a toasted corn flour rich in calories, carbohydrates and protein, with many uses in the daily diet. Sweetened, it can be used as a candy, and it can also be used to create a wide range of muffins, biscuits and cookies with a rich, home-made flavor; without forgetting that with the Toasted Corn Maize of La India Verdena you can also make the traditional Corn Maize Atole, which is widely used mainly in winter as a hot drink to chase away the cold.
Pinole Cookies Recipe
Ingredients:
2 cups La India Verdena Pinole
2 cups whole wheat flour
2 cups of sugar
1/2 Lb butter
1 tsp baking powder
1 egg
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 pinch of salt
Preparation:
Mix the butter until smooth. Add the sugar, egg, cinnamon, flour, baking powder and pinole. Knead the ingredients until they are well combined, then form the cookies with a cookies cutter. Place the cookies on a baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes at 392 F.
