I love the water jug! The cup arrive cracked and the bottom of the cup is very thin. I used some super glue around the cracks and only use it to cover the jug. Other than that, very happy with the product!

They ship it ALL the way across the country and I haven't had one broken piece, not a chip, on anything I have ordered! Their packaging is unrivaled and they are simply THE BEST! This botellon is gorgeous and takes me back to my childhood. I will follow the other review on here about how to seal this (thanks to the the person who left that awesome tip) and will keep this in my bedroom. I miss drinking out of clay-the water is fresh , pure, and cool tasting. My entire house is a nod to my Mexican heritage so it fits in beautifully.

Does it or doesn't have lead?
I'm confused about the product. It says it's lead-free but further down there's a warning from the state of California that it does have lead. So which is it? I like the jug but I don't want to put my family's health at risk. Thanks!

Cómo condimentar una jarra de agua de barro nueva (Jarra de Barro o Botellon de Barro)
Lo que necesitas: Jarra de barro (y tapa), balde grande, agua limpia, estropajo no abrasivo, opcional: vinagre, bicarbonato de sodio o agua de arroz.
Pasos:
Limpieza: Enjuague por dentro y por fuera con agua usando un estropajo no abrasivo. No use jabón.
Remojar: Sumergir en agua durante 12 a 24 horas para fortalecer y sellar los poros.
Enjuague nuevamente: frote suavemente con agua corriente; agregue bicarbonato de sodio o sal si es necesario.
Llenado y reposo: Llénelo con agua fresca, déjelo reposar unas horas y luego vacíelo. Es normal que haya algunas fugas.
Secar: Limpiar con un paño y dejar secar al aire en un lugar ventilado.
Consejos:
Nunca uses jabón, solo agua y un estropajo.
Evite cambios bruscos de temperatura para evitar grietas.
Limpiar periódicamente y almacenar en un lugar ventilado.
Los residuos blancos son una acumulación normal de minerales: límpielos con un paño seco.
