I am in love with this product. Tasty, well cooked beef, suitable for eating larger pieces or shredding for burritos etc. The beef is tender and the sauce is out of this world. My problem is that I live in Connecticut and I can no longer find it anywhere. I used to get it at Costco but they no longer carry it. This site is much more costly but I will be forced to get it here in the future.

Del Real Foods Barbacoa is a traditional Mexican dish which originated in the colonial plains of Mexico. This popular dish is often served as the main entr?e at Mexican weddings and other important celebrations. Barbacoa can best be described as Mexican beef pot roast.
Barbacoa originates in Mexico and generally refers to meats or a whole sheep slow-cooked over an open fire, or more traditionally, in a hole dug in the ground covered with maguey leaves, although the interpretation is loose, and in the present day and in some cases may refer to meat steamed until tender.
You can enjoy barbacoa as a dish alone or on a warm soft taco style corn tortilla with guacamole and salsa for added flavor, the meat or the tacos are often served in the banana leaves they were cooked in. It is also eaten with onions, diced cilantro and a squirt of lime.
