ery popular toy in Latin America and are very similar to a top. Trompos are pear-shaped and are commonly made of wood, they have a button shaped tip on top that is bigger than the metal tip at the bottom, and this tip exists so the trompo can spin precisely on the metal tip. The objective of the trompo is to throw the wooden top and have it spin on the floor. Before that can be done a cord must be rolled around the trompo (from the metal tip up) and tied to the button shaped tip before releasing it. Spintop. Spinning Top.
