Shrimp Patties in Doña Maria Mole

Shrimp patties simmered in rich, mole sauce, a comforting classic especially enjoyed during Cuaresma. This recipe keeps it simple while delivering bold, authentic Mexican flavor in every bite.
Ingredients
- 1 jar Doña María® Mole Sauce (8.25 oz)
- 3 ½ cups chicken broth
- 300 g dried or shredded shrimp (camarón molido)
- 4 eggs
- ¼ cup flour
- ¼ cup breadcrumbs
- 2 eggs, beaten
- Vegetable oil (for frying)
Instructions
- Heat chicken broth in a pot and stir in Doña María® Mole Sauce until smooth and fully dissolved.
- Hydrate shrimp in hot water for 10 minutes. Drain well and finely chop if needed.
- Mix shrimp, breadcrumbs, and eggs until combined.
- Form patties. Coat lightly in flour, dip in beaten egg, and fry until golden.
- Serve warm and generously spoon mole sauce over the patties.
- Pair with rice and warm tortillas.
