Fresh Nopalitos Salad

Fresh, light, and no cooking required

Prep time: 5–7 minutes

Ingredients

  • Doña María Nopalitos, drained
  • Ripe avocado, diced
  • Tomato, finely chopped
  • Red serrano pepper, finely minced
  • White onion, finely diced
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped
  • Cotija cheese, finely crumbled

Instructions

  1. Drain and gently rinse the nopalitos, then pat dry.
  2. Transfer to a serving bowl and combine with tomato, red serrano pepper, onion, and cilantro.
  3. Fold in the diced avocado carefully to maintain its shape.
  4. Finish with a generous sprinkle of cotija cheese.
  5. Toss lightly just before serving.

Serving Tip: A subtle squeeze of lime and a pinch of salt can be added just before serving to heighten the flavors while keeping the salad fresh and refined.
