Just like my hometown...
October 23, 2013
When I moved away from my hometown, unfortunately, I found that hot pickled carrots were not a staple of Mexican restaurants here in Phoenix, Arizona!
So, I searched for a taste that resembled those in San Diego. I actually found some at Safeway! BUT...they no longer carry them. So now, I buy them from the online Mexican grocer in San Diego!!
I'm addicted to them, and MUST have these carrots with my Mexican food!
To make them go further, I steam a cup of sliced carrots, then add them to these...marinating for a couple of days.

I am originally from CA., Zanahorias in Escabeche was one of my favorites as a girl growing up. Living in a small town in Upstate NY, you don't see much for spice here. I dare say everything is bland here. It is nice to be able to get my favorite spicy food through Mexgrocer. These carrots take me back
Pros
- Hot, salty and sweet in a can! YUMM
Cons
- Absolutely Nothing
