Dutch Oven
March 14, 2019
I love the cinsa dutch oven!! The reason for only 3 stars is because just after 4 uses I discovered a tiny flaw on the inside. I think it is a manufacturing flaw. The flaw is perfectly rectangular in shape and looks like it was made by the end of a tiny screw driver. I think it was originally a small rectangular piece of foreign matter that stuck to the side when the enamel was applied or fired to the metal (steel, right?) With 4 to 5 handwashings, the foreign rectangular particle dislodged and left the perfect rectangular indention in the inside wall of the dutch oven I have been very careful with this dutch oven since I have read that it chips easily, so I know it was not because of me that this happened.
Second, I noticed the dutch oven was not totally flat on its bottom the first time I used it. I started it on a low burner. It started shaking from side to side all around. It bows in the center when heated. After use and having been washed, dried and cooled(of course), it is slightly bowed in the center. This bowing is not really a major concern. I just avoid too high of a burner on the stovetop. But is it suppose to do that? Otherwise, I am happy with the dutch oven's performance and it is really pretty and fun to use. It is the typical enamelware, however, I have another question. Can anyone tell me if there is any toxicidity in the enamel finish?

Pros
- I would recommend the dutch oven to a friend or family member along with a caution, which is to check out any lead or other toxin in the enamel finish.
