Fischer & Wieser Specialty Foods Company is a family business in the Texas Hill Country, founded by two German families producing good quality products, a success story of American entrepreneurial dream founded in June of 1969. The company’s flagship product, the award-winning Original Roasted Raspberry Chipotle Sauce®, helped put the family business on the specialty foods map.
The Fischer & Wieser started in Fredericksburg, Texas were a child by the name of Mark Wieser spent his summers in his father’s peach orchard. Mark understood from a very young age, that a quality crop of peaches equaled loyal customers. All that was on the property was a peach orchard and a little roadside fruit stand which Mark founded as Das Peach Haus and from which he sold bushels of fresh peaches and his mother’s homemade peach preserves. Those great fresh peaches left their mark on customers so remembered the Wiesers all year round and later from the preserves they ate during the winter.
When Mark wasn’t in the orchard, he would teach school and many of his students lend him a hand in picking peaches. One young man by the name of Case D. Fisher spent many summers working and helping Mark, develop a profound love for the business that he off to college to study food and fiber marketing at the Texas A&M University. He later returned to Fredericksburg full of new ideas and strategies. Mark and Case became business partners, sharing today a bond as strong as father and son. Mark is the dreamer and Casey makes the dreams come true.
The company is located in an historic warehouse which calls home just a couple of blocks off Main Street in Fredericksburg, Texas. The Company is still driven today by the tradition of quality that started the company 33 years ago. Produce a quality product and loyal customers will embrace it.
Today Fischer and Wieser sells 70 products, as well as Estella Wieser’s peach preserves but the Company is known all because of its famous Original Roasted Raspberry Chipotle Sauce, the Mango Ginger Habanero Sauce, Texas 1015 Onion Glaze, the Red Hot Jalapeno Jelly and the Mild Green Jalapeno Jelly among others. For 40 years, Fischer & Wieser located in Fredericksburg, Texas has maintained a tradition of handcrafting delicious, gourmet products one jar at a time.
Fischer & Wieser is also known for its savory fruit and tangy sauces and spreads. Their raspberry, pomegranate & mango and blackberry sauces have a smokey and spicy flavor that will produce a mouthwatering taste when added to roasted pork, chicken or fish. Other sauces that will enhance gourmet food and can be added or used to glaze poultry, meat and seafood are mango ginger habanero, cilantro and olive, pasilla chile, and smoke house bacon chipotle sauces.
Fischer & Wieser Specialty Foods, Inc. now includes products from Mom's Spaghetti Sauce Co., the best loved spaghetti sauce on the shelf, Old Chisholm trail, a complete line of cheese and cookie straws, and Timpone's Organic Foods, a line of organic spaghetti sauces, cooking sauces, and salsas. The newest addition to the Fischer & Wieser family is the Texas on the Plate line of authentic Texas cuisine based off the cookbook by Terry Thompson-Anderson.
Fischer & Wieser, which has two locations in Fredericksburg, Texas, is still owned and operated by members of the Fischer and Wieser families, 40 years after its birth. Case D. Fischer is president and CEO, Mark Wieser is responsible for the Company Stores: Das Peach Haus, and The Epicurean Shop as well as the internet site, Jenny Wieser, Ph.D., Mark's niece, is in charge of production and corporate operations; Deanna Fischer, Case's wife, is Chief Marketing Officer and oversees Community Relations.
