Recipe Ingredients:

6 cups Maseca for tamales
3 cans Chicken Broth
1 cup Maizete corn oil
2 tsp. Salt
1 tsp. Baking powder
1 large Rostisserie chicken
1 can Green tomatillos sauce

Recipe Instructions:

With an electric mixer, blend the Maseca,Maizete corn oil,,salt,baking powder and the chicken broth to obtain a consistent mixture.Shred the chicken and marinate in the green tomatillo sauce.Add the marinated chicken to the mixture and keep blending to obtain a consistent mixture.Pour mixture evenly into 4-inch wide muffin molds.Bake for 20 minutes at 350* F.

Volume of Chicken broth please!

Would someone please tell me how much liquid volume is represented by the "3 cans of chicken broth"? I have seen several sizes of can, and lately, most seems to come in a paper container. Cans is just not an accurate volume of measure! Cups, liquid oz. milliliters etc. would be far more useful! I want to try this wonderful recipe!
Pros:
Great idea, especially if you wanted to eliminate the lard or oil that is traditionally in a tamal.
Cons:
Cans is not an accurate unit of measure, unless you know the size of the can!

I make these all the time. My husband is from mexico and loves these, they are a quick fix when you don't have the hours it takes to make real tamales.
